A tragic accident in Dehradun, Uttarakhand claimed the life of an Army captain, while critically injuring his companion.
The incident took place near Centrio Mall in Hathibadkala within the jurisdiction of Dehradun Nagar police late on Tuesday. Reports suggest that Captain Srijan Pandey, 27, hailing from Gomti Nagar Lucknow, and his 26-year-old friend, Siddharth Menon, were en route from Garhi Cantt to Clementtown when their speeding car struck a truck.
Following the loud crash, nearby residents rushed to the scene and promptly alerted the police. On arrival, authorities transported the victims to a nearby private medical facility.
Unfortunately, Captain Pandey succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while Menon remains hospitalized. The truck driver is currently on the run, and efforts to apprehend him are underway. Rakesh Gusain, the officer in charge of the police station, provided further details, stating, “Captain Pandey, affiliated with the 201 Engineer Regiment in Clementtown, was driving with Menon from Garhi Cantt to Clementtown. Their car’s forceful collision with the truck near Centrio Mall drew the attention of local residents who then notified the police. We then ensured the injured were promptly taken to a medical facility.”
