Indian Army Announces Establishment of Army Girls’ Sports Companies

In a significant stride towards women empowerment and fostering talent in sports, the Indian Army unveiled plans to establish two Army Girls’ Sports Companies (AGSC) on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024. The AGSC units will be set up at the Army Marksmanship Unit in Mhow and the Army Sports Institute in Pune, with an expected operational date of April 2024.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to identify and nurture young female talent in various disciplines including Shooting, Archery, Athletics, Boxing, and Weightlifting. By providing state-of-the-art training facilities and expert coaching, the AGSC units aspire to groom future champions who can excel at national and international sporting events.
