In a critical initiative to bolster readiness against Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) disasters, the Indian Army’s Eastern Command successfully conducted the biennial joint exercise “Nagarik Madad” at the Barrackpore Military Station.
This comprehensive drill saw an integrated effort between the Indian Army, the 2nd Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Kolkata, West Bengal Police, West Bengal Fire and Emergency Department, and other key stakeholders from various departments of the district administration.
The exercise was aimed at synchronizing the response strategies and actions in the event of a CBRN disaster scenario, ensuring that all involved agencies can operate cohesively to mitigate the impact of such incidents effectively.
The collaborative spirit and whole-hearted participation of all the stakeholders were instrumental in making “Nagarik Madad” a resounding success.
This joint exercise underscores the commitment of the Indian Army and its partners to safeguarding the nation against potential CBRN threats, enhancing the capabilities and preparedness of the emergency response mechanisms in place.
