In a move underscoring the deepening ties between international naval forces, a delegation from the Royal Netherlands Navy, led by Rear Admiral Paul Flos, the Programme Director for International Naval Material Cooperation at the Material & IT Command, embarked on a significant visit to the headquarters of the Western Naval Command (HQWNC) on March 26.
The delegation was thoroughly briefed on the activities of the Western Naval Command, marking a key moment in the ongoing dialogue and cooperation between the naval forces of the Netherlands and India.
Following the briefing, the delegation made a strategic visit to the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, an essential site for the maintenance and repair of India’s naval vessels, showcasing the operational capabilities and technical excellence of the Indian Navy. The visit not only highlighted the technical prowess of the Indian naval facilities but also paved the way for future technical and maintenance collaborations between the two nations.
Highlighting the visit’s significance, the Dutch delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with Rear Admiral DK Goswami, Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Dockyard (Mumbai), and Rear Admiral R Adhisrinivasan, Chief Staff Officer (Technical) at the HQWNC. These discussions focused on the technical and maintenance aspects of warships, indicating a keen interest in shared knowledge and best practices in naval warfare and support.
