On May 28, 2024, the Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard convened their fifth Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting at the Headquarters of the Directorate General Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong.
The significant gathering was attended by distinguished officers, including Lt Gen P C Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, PhD, Director General of Assam Rifles, and DIG Pankaj Verma, TM, Deputy Inspector General of the Indian Coast Guard. The meeting focused on enhancing the cooperation between the two forces, which have been affiliated since May 2019.
The JWG meeting is part of an ongoing series aimed at strengthening the strategic and operational collaboration between the Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard.
