Since their affiliation in May 2019, the Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard have made significant strides in fostering a close working relationship.

This partnership is crucial for maintaining security in India’s northeastern regions, which are prone to insurgency and cross-border crimes, as well as its vast coastline, which requires vigilant maritime security.

Lt Gen P C Nair emphasized the importance of this affiliation, stating, “The collaboration between Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard is a testament to our commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security. Through our joint efforts, we can effectively address the multifaceted security challenges facing our regions.”

The fifth JWG meeting marked another milestone in the collaborative journey of the Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard. The discussions and decisions made during the meeting are expected to lead to more synchronized operations and improved security outcomes.

Both forces remain committed to working closely to address emerging security threats and ensure the safety of the nation.
