Demonstrating the spirit of camaraderie and mutual cooperation, INS Kiltan made a significant port call at Muara, Brunei, where it engaged in a series of professional, social, and educational activities aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and interoperability between the Indian Navy and the Royal Brunei Navy.

The visit, marked by a blend of formal interactions and hands-on maritime exercises, underscores the deepening strategic partnership between India and Brunei.

During its stay in Muara, INS Kiltanโ€™s officers and crew were warmly received by the Royal Brunei Navy. A key highlight of the visit was the courtesy call on the Fleet Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, where discussions focused on enhancing bilateral naval cooperation and exploring avenues for future collaboration.

Beyond formal discussions, the visit included a range of professional and social interactions designed to foster closer ties between the naval personnel of both countries.

These interactions provided an excellent platform for exchanging best practices, discussing operational strategies, and understanding each otherโ€™s maritime doctrines. The camaraderie extended beyond the professional realm, with social gatherings that allowed for a more informal exchange of ideas and experiences.

INS Kiltan also opened its decks to students from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (ITBE), offering them a unique opportunity to learn about the operations and capabilities of a frontline warship. The students were given guided tours of the ship, where they observed various naval technologies and interacted with the crew.

These educational visits are instrumental in inspiring the next generation of maritime professionals and fostering a deeper understanding of naval operations.

A significant component of the port call was the Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) conducted in the South China Sea. This exercise aimed to enhance interoperability and facilitate the exchange of best practices between the two navies.

The MPX included complex maneuvers, communication drills, and coordinated operations, reflecting the high level of operational synergy between the Indian Navy and the Royal Brunei Navy.

The exercise not only showcased the operational readiness of INS Kiltan but also underscored the commitment of both navies to maintaining peace and security in the region.

Such joint exercises are crucial for building mutual trust and ensuring that both forces can operate seamlessly together in various maritime scenarios.

The port call by INS Kiltan in Muara is part of a broader effort to strengthen maritime cooperation between India and Brunei. The activities undertaken during the visit reflect a commitment to building bridges of friendship and enhancing mutual understanding.

The interactions and exercises conducted during this visit are expected to pave the way for more collaborative efforts in the future, contributing to the security and stability of the region.

The visit of INS Kiltan to Muara, Brunei, has been a resounding success, marked by significant professional engagements, educational outreach, and operational exercises.
