This historic visit, the first of its kind, is a tangible outcome of the bilateral defence cooperation agreement reached during the second consultative meeting between the two countries in March 2023.

During their stay in India, the delegation from Jordan delved into various aspects of military training, engaging in professional interactions, familiarization with cutting-edge simulators, and firsthand demonstrations of critical operations such as Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) and Diving Operations.

The delegation received an immersive experience at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, where they toured the professional training schools, gaining insights into the rigorous training regimen and advanced facilities available.

A highlight of their visit to Kochi was the guided tour of the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, showcasing India’s indigenous shipbuilding capabilities and maritime prowess.

Additionally, the delegation explored the ship repair facilities at Cochin Shipyard Ltd, further deepening their understanding of India’s maritime infrastructure and technological advancements in naval engineering.

The delegation also engaged in fruitful discussions with Commodore Sritanu Guru, Commodore Training of the Southern Naval Command, exploring avenues for collaboration in naval training and professional courses between the Indian Navy and the Jordan Armed Forces.

The exchange of ideas and experiences during these interactions laid the groundwork for future cooperation and mutual learning.

Continuing their journey, the Jordan Armed Forces delegation proceeded to the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, where they were received by Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty, Commandant of INA.

The delegation shared insights on training methodologies, leadership strategies, and operational experiences, fostering a rich exchange of knowledge and expertise.

They were given an in-depth look into the state-of-the-art training facilities at INA, which are renowned for their excellence in grooming future naval leaders.

The visit of the Jordan Armed Forces Training Delegation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Jordan Armed Forces. It underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthening defense ties and enhancing interoperability through collaborative training initiatives.

The exchange not only strengthens bilateral relations but also contributes to regional stability and security in the broader Indo-Pacific region.
