In a significant advancement in military education, the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington, India, and the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh, have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement, signed during the state visit of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India on June 22, 2024, focuses on cooperation in the fields of Strategic and Operational Studies.
The DSSC and DSCSC, both prestigious institutions in their respective countries, are renowned for their rigorous training programs that prepare tri-service officers for senior command and staff roles. With a shared ethos, similar training curriculums, and common challenges, the partnership through this MoU aims to enhance bilateral engagements and foster greater collaboration.
Under this MoU, both colleges will engage in a variety of collaborative activities intended to boost the professional skills and strategic insights of their student officers and faculty members. These initiatives include joint training sessions, seminars, faculty exchanges, and reciprocal visits by instructors, which are expected to enrich the academic environment and improve the quality of military education provided at both institutions.
This partnership not only highlights the strong military cooperation between India and Bangladesh but also promises significant advancements in the strategic capabilities of both nations through shared knowledge and best practices.
