Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, AVSM, has officially taken charge of the Southern Command of the Indian Army. The change of command ceremony was held today, featuring a poignant tribute to the fallen heroes at the Command War Memorial, followed by a review of the Guard of Honour.
During the ceremony, Lt Gen Seth addressed the troops, urging all ranks to maintain a sharp focus on operational preparedness.
He emphasized the importance of serving the nation with unwavering zeal and enthusiasm, reflecting the Southern Command’s commitment to national security.
Headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, the Southern Command is one of the six operational commands of the Indian Army. It oversees a vast structure, including areas and sub-areas commanded by Major Generals and Brigadiers, and includes 19 cantonments under its jurisdiction.
This extensive network plays a crucial role in the defense infrastructure of India, tasked with numerous operational and administrative responsibilities.
