Lt. Ananay Bhatnagar marked a proud milestone as he was commissioned into the prestigious 19 Armoured Regiment, following his successful completion of the SSC (NT) 118 course from the Officers Training Academy (OTA). Lt. Bhatnagar was born into a family with a distinguished military heritage. His grandfather, a retired Lieutenant General, held the esteemed position of Director General of Supplies and Transport (DGST), with the longest tenure in the role.
He was decorated with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), and was the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the President of India. His father, an Army Service Corps (ASC) officer and a skilled paratrooper, was awarded the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Commendation for his exemplary service. Adding to the family’s illustrious history is Lt. Bhatnagar’s uncle, a Captain in the Indian Navy, who served as an aviator.
