In a dramatic turn of events, a swift response by a diving team from the Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command resulted in the successful rescue of a severely injured woman following a speedboat collision in the Mahanadi River. Eyewitnesses reported that the Navy team, already on-site, immediately observed the accident and quickly mobilized to provide assistance. According to a statement released by a Naval spokesperson, the team employed the buddy carry technique to effectively carry the injured woman over a considerable distance of over a kilometer to the nearest police help center.

Compounding the urgency of the situation, there was no ambulance available at the time of the rescue. In a commendable display of initiative, the Navy personnel arranged for an autorickshaw, ensuring that the woman could be transported promptly to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The swift actions of the diving team not only underscored their training and readiness but also highlighted their commitment to community safety and support during critical emergencies.
