Standing Committee on Defence Visits OTA Chennai

The Standing Committee on Defence (SCoD), chaired by Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Member of Parliament, visited the prestigious Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai as part of their ongoing study tour. The OTA Chennai is a premier institution responsible for training Short Service Commission (SSC) officers for the Indian Army.

The visit aimed to provide the committee with a comprehensive understanding of the rigorous training programs that prepare cadets for their roles as commissioned officers in the Indian Army. The committee members were briefed on the training methodologies, curriculum, and infrastructure that contribute to shaping the next generation of military leaders.

About OTA Chennai:

The Officers Training Academy, Chennai, is one of the two OTAs in India, the other being in Gaya. Established in 1963, OTA Chennai trains both male and female cadets for Short Service Commission into the Indian Army. Known for its discipline and comprehensive training modules, the academy plays a critical role in shaping leaders who uphold the ethos and values of the Indian Army.
