1. JOINT OPERATIONS BY INDIAN ARMY ASSAM RIFLES AND SECURITY FORCES RESULTS IN RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION IN MANIPUR 4 scaled

In a series of meticulously coordinated joint operations, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police, along with other security forces, achieved significant recoveries of arms, ammunition, and warlike stores (WLS) from both the hill and valley regions of Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Bishnupur districts in Manipur.

Key Operations and Recoveries

  1. Kangpokpi District (19 December 2024):
    Acting on intelligence, forces launched a joint operation in Nepali Khutti and Laimaton Thangbuh Village, recovering:
    • One .303 Sniper (Modified)
    • One .22 Rifle
    • Two Single Barrel Rifles
    • One 9mm Pistol
    • One IED and 100 gm commercial explosives
    • Two Tube Launchers
    • Additional warlike stores
  2. Kangpokpi and Imphal East Districts (18–19 December 2024):
    Intelligence-based operations led to the recovery of:
    • One 7.62mm Russian RPD Machine Gun
    • Two 5.56mm INSAS Rifles
    • Two Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs)
    • One .32 Pistol
    • One 2-inch Mortar
    • One 12-bore Single Barrel Gun
    • One Heavy Calibre Launcher
    • Two Pompi Guns, ammunition, and warlike stores
  3. Churachandpur District (20–21 December 2024):
    • A Joint Mobile Vehicle Check Post at Torbung Bazar apprehended a suspect with an unregistered .32mm Pistol.
    • A joint search operation in Wathalambi resulted in:
      • Two 7.62mm Modified Sniper Rifles
      • One 7.62mm SLR Rifle
      • Two Single-Barrel Rifles
      • One 51mm Mortar
      • One Modified Grenade Launcher
      • Four IEDs and grenades
    • In another operation, two individuals were apprehended with a Carbine Machine Gun.

The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation. These successful operations underscore the seamless coordination and synergy between the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and law enforcement agencies.
