In a shocking incident, two individuals have been detained by Rajasthan Police for allegedly abducting and murdering an Indian Army constable in Jhunjhunu district. The victim, Vikram Singh, was posted in Punjab’s Abohar as a constable with the 18th Rashtriya Rifles, a unit under the Rajputana Rifles regiment.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night when Singh had returned to his native village, Palota, to attend his cousin’s wedding. According to Surajgarh Station House Officer Hemraj Meena, two suspects known to Singh intercepted him near his cousin’s house, forcibly abducted him in a car, and took him to an isolated location where he was later found dead.

“Some locals attempted to intervene but were unable to stop the vehicle,” said SHO Meena. The officer confirmed that the two detained individuals belong to the same village and are being interrogated. However, the motive for the crime remains unknown at this stage.

Nearly two hours after the abduction, Singh’s family received a phone call from an unidentified individual who informed them of his death and disclosed the location of the body. The family rushed to the spot and took Singh to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. No one was found at the house where the body was discovered.

A case has been registered under Section 102 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Surajgarh police station. The body has been sent for postmortem examination, and local CCTV footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. Police are working to determine the full sequence of events and uncover the motive behind the killing.
