“Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly,” he said, speaking to Hindustan Times from his hospital bed. He sustained impact injuries to his chest, eyes, and feet but is conscious and stable.

His brother Ajay’s condition remains unknown as search and identification efforts continue amidst the wreckage. As families anxiously await news of their loved ones, Vishwash’s survival has brought a sliver of hope and humanity to an otherwise grim day.

The crash, which claimed numerous lives and injured many others, has led to a massive rescue and relief effort led by the Indian Army and local authorities. Medical teams are working around the clock, while officials continue investigations into the cause of the crash. Vishwash’s testimony is expected to play a role in reconstructing the sequence of events that led to the disaster.
