Farzeen Gafoor

A cloud of mystery surrounds the sudden disappearance of a young Indian Army personnel from Kerala, Farzeen Gafoor, who reportedly went missing from a train en route to Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Gafoor, a native of Kaniyapoyyoor near Guruvayur and an official at the Army Medical College in Pune, was travelling to Bareilly for a training programme when all contact with him ceased.

According to a complaint lodged by his family with the Guruvayur police, Farzeen had boarded the Ramnagar Express from Bandra on July 9. He remained in touch with his family until the morning of July 10, but his phone was switched off just two stations before reaching Bareilly. Since then, there has been no communication from him.

His relatives, including a brother working in the UAE, are expected to reach Bareilly by Sunday evening to aid in the search. The family has also approached Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister Suresh Gopi, and the local MLA for help in escalating the matter.

The Guruvayur police have registered a case based on the missing person complaint, and coordination with law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh is underway.

Farzeen had last visited his family three months ago. His sudden disappearance has raised concerns about his safety and prompted calls for urgent action from both the Indian Army and civil authorities.
