Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, reviewed the operational readiness and technological initiatives of key formations during his visit to the Nasirabad Military Station.
The Army Commander interacted with the Ghatak Strikers Brigade, which showcased its enhanced combat capabilities and infrastructure upgrades, with a focus on lessons learned from Operation Sindoor. The brigade highlighted its adaptability in multi-domain warfare and adoption of new-age technologies.
At the Sabse Behtar Brigade, Lt. Gen. Seth was briefed on the newly developed Tech-Driven Engineer Support System, designed to provide advanced combat engineering solutions in desert operations. The initiative reflects the Army’s shift towards greater technology absorption to strengthen mission effectiveness.
Commending both formations, Lt. Gen. Seth urged troops to uphold professionalism, remain mission-ready, and continue leveraging innovation to counter emerging threats.
With roots tracing back to 1895, Southern Command has played a pivotal role in historic operations including the 1961 liberation of Goa and the 1971 war. Lt. Gen. Seth, who took over command on July 1, 2024, brings vast operational experience, having trained at the NDA and France’s Collège interarmées de Défense.
The emphasis on tech integration is in line with global trends, as militaries adopting AI and advanced systems report significant gains in efficiency. The visit underscores the Indian Army’s proactive approach to preparing for future security challenges in an era of multi-domain warfare.
