The Indian Air Force’s elite Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) is set to enthrall spectators in Hisar on Sunday, September 21, with a breathtaking aerial display under the ongoing “Know Your Forces” campaign of the Sapta Shakti Command.
Flying the advanced BAE Hawk Mk.132 jets, the team will showcase high-precision maneuvers and paint the skies with tricolour smoke trails. The aerobatic performance is aimed at fostering stronger military-civilian bonds and inspiring the youth towards defence careers.
Ahead of the event, team members interacted with students of Army Public School, Hisar, giving them insights into the complexities of aerobatic flying. The main display is expected to draw dignitaries, veterans, students, and citizens from across the region.
Formed in 1996 and currently based at Bidar Air Force Station, Karnataka, the Suryakiran team has mesmerized audiences across India and abroad for nearly three decades. Since 2015, the team has been operating specially configured Hawk Mk.132s, equipped with smoke canisters to enhance aerial artistry.
The Sapta Shakti Command, headquartered in Jaipur, has traditionally focused on the western border since its establishment in 2005, but this initiative marks a shift towards enhanced public engagement.
