Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, carried out the Annual Administrative Inspection of the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, on Sunday. The visit reaffirmed the Armyโs focus on strengthening professional military education and aligning it with contemporary operational challenges.
During the inspection, Lt Gen Seth was briefed on the institutionโs professional military education programs, administrative practices, and initiatives aimed at fostering jointness, technology absorption, and capability development. He stressed the importance of integrating training curricula with emerging battlefield requirements and interacted with faculty members to discuss ways of enhancing PME delivery.
Established in 1970, CDM is a premier Tri-Service training institute that offers advanced courses at Masters, MPhil, and doctoral levels in collaboration with Osmania University. Lt Gen Seth also reviewed infrastructure developments, including the newly completed Married Accommodation Project (MAP), which improves living standards for participants of the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC).
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, and the French Collรจge interarmรฉes de Dรฉfense, Lt Gen Seth has vast operational and strategic experience. His visit highlighted the Armyโs ongoing transformation efforts aimed at preparing future leaders for evolving global and regional security landscapes.
The inspection concluded with a review of key facilities and interactions with senior officers, underlining CDMโs role in maintaining high standards of training and administration within the Armed Forces.
