Lieutenant General DS Kushwah, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area, called on the Honโble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, for a key deliberation on contemporary security challenges and avenues for enhanced military-civil cooperation.
The discussions focused on the concept of Military-Civil Fusion, aimed at strengthening coordination between the armed forces and civil administration in the present-day security landscape. They exchanged views on ensuring seamless collaboration for both operational preparedness and public welfare.
The meeting also highlighted the Armyโs role in flood relief operations, particularly in disaster-prone regions of Maharashtra, where timely intervention by the armed forces has often saved lives and minimized damage. Rear Area Security and measures to further strengthen veteran welfare initiatives were also discussed.
The interaction reaffirmed the Indian Armyโs commitment to ensuring security, timely humanitarian assistance, and sustained welfare for veterans and their families in the state.
