Rear Admiral Vivek Dahiya, NM, took over as the Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet (FOCWF) from Rear Admiral Rahul Vilas Gokhale, YSM, NM, at a ceremonial parade held on September 27.
Commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1993, Rear Admiral Dahiya is an alumnus of the Naval Academy, Mandovi, Kingโs College London, the Naval War College, Goa, and the National Defence College, New Delhi.
A Navigation and Direction specialist, he has served in various key afloat and ashore appointments, including command of frontline warships INS Karmuk and INS Chennai. His career reflects extensive operational and strategic experience, preparing him to lead one of the Navyโs most powerful operational formations.
