Surgeon Rear Admiral Ajit Gopinath has taken over as the Additional Director General Medical Services (Navy). Prior to this appointment, he served as the Command Medical Officer, Eastern Naval Command.
A seasoned medical administrator, Surg RAdm Gopinath has held several key positions including Staff Officer (Medical) at CABS, Director AFMS (CRD) at the Office of DGAFMS, JDMS (Personnel), and Commodore (MS-Health Services) at Naval Headquarters.
An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, and the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, he has also commanded premier naval hospitals INHS Patanjali and INHS Sanjivani.
With extensive experience in medical services and health administration, Surg RAdm Gopinath is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare support for the Indian Navy and strengthening the Armed Forces Medical Services.
