In a remarkable tribute to a century of service, courage, and dedication, the Military Nursing Service (MNS) has launched a Scuba Diving Expedition as part of its Centenary Celebrations. The expedition was flagged off by Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, DGAFMS, and Lieutenant General C.G. Muralidharan, Director General Medical Services (Army).
The team comprises 10 courageous officers from the Military Nursing Service, led by Lt Col Rashmi Sharma. The expedition will take place from October 21 to November 5, 2025, highlighting the MNS’s indomitable spirit and commitment to adventure beyond their medical and humanitarian duties.
The initiative aims to celebrate adventure, resilience, teamwork, and India’s maritime heritage, symbolizing how the MNS continues to inspire excellence in service while breaking barriers. Through this expedition, the officers seek to demonstrate that the spirit of courage and endurance hallmarks of the MNS since its inception — remains as strong as ever even after 100 years of glorious service.
The event also underscores the growing participation and leadership of women in adventure and operational domains within the Armed Forces, reflecting the evolving role of the MNS in shaping India’s modern military ethos.
