In a continued effort to bolster India’s frontline defences along the eastern borders, Lieutenant General Manraj Singh Mann, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Trishakti Corps, visited the forward areas in East Sikkim to review operational preparedness and assess ongoing capability development initiatives in the strategically vital region.
During his visit, Lt Gen Mann interacted with troops deployed at high-altitude posts and commended all ranks for their exceptional professionalism, dedication, and high state of readiness in the face of challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions.
He also reviewed infrastructure enhancement projects aimed at strengthening mobility, surveillance, and combat effectiveness along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Corps Commander emphasized the importance of maintaining peak operational readiness and morale in light of the evolving security dynamics in the eastern theatre.
Officials noted that the visit reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to ensuring robust border management and constant preparedness to meet any security challenge.
The Trishakti Corps, headquartered at Sukna in North Bengal, plays a pivotal role in defending India’s eastern frontier, covering the sensitive regions of Sikkim and North Bengal, and remains a key formation in ensuring peace, stability, and deterrence along the LAC with China.
