On the occasion of the 83rd EME Corps Day, celebrated on 15 October 2025, Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, VSM, Commandant of MCEME and Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME, paid homage to the valiant Bravehearts and technicians who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the EME War Memorial, honouring those who dedicated their lives in service to the country.
Following the ceremony, Lt Gen Varshney addressed all ranks of MCEME during a Sainik Sammelan, commending the unwavering professionalism, dedication, and technical excellence of EME personnel and civilian staff.
He highlighted the Corps’ pivotal role in maintaining the operational effectiveness of the Indian Army’s vast inventory of equipment, particularly acknowledging their contributions during Operation Sindoor a testament to their resilience, innovation, and indomitable spirit under demanding operational conditions.
As part of the celebrations, outstanding achievers were felicitated for exemplary performance, and various faculties were awarded trophies and championship banners in recognition of their excellence.
Marking the milestone occasion, Lt Gen Varshney also inaugurated two cutting-edge training facilities at the Faculty of Electronics, MCEME ‘Dronalaya’, dedicated to Drone Technologies, and ‘Yantralaya’, focusing on Unmanned Systems and Robotics.
These advanced facilities are set to significantly enhance the Indian Army’s capability in leveraging emerging technologies, strengthening both the training infrastructure under ARTRAC and the technical proficiency of EME technicians in ensuring mission readiness.
