Lieutenant General Sanjay Malik on Friday handed over the command of Headquarters 101 Area in a solemn ceremony held in Shillong. As part of the proceedings, Lt Gen Malik laid a wreath at the Rhino Prerna Sthal, paying heartfelt homage to the bravehearts of the 1971 Indo-Pak War who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation.
Lt Gen R.C. Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, conveyed his greetings and appreciation to Lt Gen Malik for his exemplary leadership and outstanding service during his tenure. He also extended best wishes to the outgoing commander for success in all his future endeavours.
Headquarters 101 Area, one of the oldest and most strategically significant Army formations in the Northeast, has played a vital role in maintaining operational readiness and supporting civil-military coordination in the region.
