The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has officially clarified that reports circulating online about loss of four Rafale fighter jets and missing of Lieutenant Shivangi Singh are false and part of a deepfake video targeting the Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh.
The misinformation, which spread widely on social media, falsely suggested an operational mishap involving India’s Rafale fleet. PIB emphasized that no such incident occurred and reaffirmed that all IAF pilots are safe and operational readiness remains unaffected.
Authorities have urged the public to verify information through official channels and not fall prey to doctored media content that seeks to create confusion and panic.
This clarification comes amid rising concerns about deepfake videos and digital disinformation campaigns targeting India’s armed forces. PIB reiterated that the government is actively monitoring such content and taking necessary steps to safeguard national security information.
