Exercise Trishul, held across multiple operational theatres including the Western Seaboard, the Desert Sector, and the Rann & Creek Sector, is one of India’s major annual multi-domain manoeuvre exercises. This year’s edition highlighted exceptional Tri-Services synergy, precision planning, and real-time tactical integration — reflecting the growing emphasis on unified combat power.

Amphibious Operations and High-Level Review

During the review, Lt Gen Seth embarked on the amphibious warfare ship INS Jalashwa, accompanied by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command (SWAC). The senior commanders jointly assessed the operational readiness and interoperability of the Amphibious Forces.

A key highlight of the exercise was the launch of the first Infantry Platoon with a tank via Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM) during the opening wave of beaching operations. The coordinated assault showcased the forces’ capability to project combat power from sea to land under realistic wartime conditions, combining precision execution with enhanced situational awareness provided through integrated air and maritime assets.

Demonstration of Joint Combat Power

The Amphibious Landing Operations reflected seamless coordination between the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, validating India’s preparedness for complex joint missions. From naval platforms and landing craft to airborne support, surveillance, and ground elements, the exercise reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ ability to respond cohesively in multi-domain environments.

Lt Gen Seth praised the professionalism and operational excellence displayed by soldiers, sailors, and air warriors. He commended their high standards of jointmanship, technological absorption, and combat readiness throughout the drill.

Strengthening Self-Reliance and Multi-Domain Capabilities

The successful conduct of Exercise Trishul underscores India’s advancing multi-domain and multi-spectrum capabilities, supporting the broader national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defence preparedness. With emphasis on rapid mobilisation, inter-service coordination, and effective deployment of indigenous platforms, the exercise highlights the Armed Forces’ commitment to strengthening India’s strategic posture along critical operational sectors.
