In a major boost to India’s indigenous fifth-generation fighter jet initiative, the Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) consortium leading the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program has officially selected Dynamatic Technologies Limited (DTL) as its exclusive industrial partner.
The partnership marks a crucial step in strengthening India’s domestic aerospace manufacturing ecosystem and accelerating the transition of the AMCA from development to full-scale production.
Dynamatic Technologies, a globally reputed manufacturer known for its complex aero-structures and precision aerospace assemblies, will play a pivotal role in developing the AMCA’s airframe structures and sub-system assemblies. The company’s proven expertise in high-precision engineering and experience with international aircraft manufacturers make it an invaluable addition to the AMCA ecosystem.
According to the consortium’s statement, the collaboration combines L&T’s precision manufacturing, BEL’s advanced avionics and electronic warfare capabilities, and DTL’s global aero-structure expertise to create a complete industrial architecture for end-to-end manufacturing — covering everything from airframe development to mission systems integration and ground support equipment.
Arun Ramchandani, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Precision Engineering & Systems, said the alliance “brings unmatched agility and precision to India’s fifth-generation fighter program,” adding that the partnership represents a broader vision to reshape India’s aerospace industrial base.
Udayant Malhoutra, CEO and Managing Director of Dynamatic Technologies, described the alliance as a “convergence of advanced engineering capabilities,” noting that it aligns with India’s long-term goal of achieving complete self-reliance in advanced combat aircraft manufacturing.
The AMCA project, spearheaded by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), aims to deliver a stealth-capable, highly agile multirole fighter jet equipped with cutting-edge sensors, weapon systems, and integrated electronic warfare suites.
With this partnership, India is moving closer to joining the elite club of nations capable of designing and producing indigenous stealth fighters.
L&T, a USD 30-billion conglomerate with decades of experience in high-technology manufacturing, brings deep expertise in defence system integration and digital manufacturing. BEL strengthens the consortium with its proven capabilities in avionics, radar, and mission electronics. The addition of Dynamatic Technologies completes the tri-sector synergy — structural, electronic, and manufacturing excellence — essential for realizing the AMCA vision.
Dynamatic Technologies operates state-of-the-art aerospace facilities in India and Europe, serving clients across six continents. Its inclusion not only strengthens the AMCA’s industrial foundation but also enhances India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, creating potential for future export-oriented defence manufacturing.
This strategic three-way partnership between L&T, BEL, and DTL is widely expected to accelerate the AMCA’s production readiness and usher India into a new era of indigenous aerospace capability.
