In a significant demonstration of India’s growing technological prowess in modern warfare, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, reviewed the Indian Army’s drone warfare preparedness and operational capabilities.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the combat potential, surveillance capabilities, and multi-domain applications of state-of-the-art drones deployed under Northern Command. The review highlighted the Army’s strides in integrating unmanned systems into real-time operations across diverse terrains, particularly in the northern frontiers.
The Army Commander lauded all ranks for their innovation, technological excellence, and continuous efforts in capability development, commending the troops for successfully adapting to evolving battlefield requirements. He emphasised that the Northern Command remains at the forefront of modernising warfare tactics through the effective use of drones, artificial intelligence, and data-driven systems.
The focus on drone warfare aligns with the Indian Army’s broader push toward multi-domain operations (MDO), where land, air, cyber, and space assets work in synergy to deliver decisive outcomes.
Lt Gen Sharma reiterated that the integration of cutting-edge technologies is crucial for maintaining operational superiority and ensuring readiness against any emerging threat.
