Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, visited Shahsitar in Poonch to review the operational readiness of forward-deployed units and assess the prevailing security situation in the hinterland. The visit came at a critical time, as forces continue to maintain heightened vigilance in response to emerging security challenges in the region.

During his interaction with field commanders, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on ongoing Counter Terrorism operations, deployment patterns and the multi-layered measures being implemented to further strengthen the security grid across vulnerable areas. He reviewed the effectiveness of surveillance mechanisms, response drills and the integration of intelligence inputs that enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency.

The Army Commander appreciated the steadfast dedication, professionalism and high state of preparedness demonstrated by troops operating under demanding terrain and weather conditions.
