Burlington, MA โข November 24, 2025 โ MatrixSpace, a leading innovator in portable AI-enabled radar solutions for counter-UAS missions, has been named the Active Sensor Winner in the U.S. Armyโs xTechCounter Strike competition, part of Operation Flytrap 4.5. MatrixSpace was the only active sensing provider selected among 15 finalists, underscoring the companyโs breakthrough performance in rapidly deployable airspace awareness technology.
Operation Flytrap is the U.S. Armyโs signature initiative to speed the identification, testing, and adoption of next-generation counter-UAS (C-UAS) capabilities through live soldier experimentation, accelerated acquisition pathways, and transition to operational units.
During Flytrap 4.5, MatrixSpace demonstrated its Expeditionary AI Radar and 360 AI Radar, both powered by the companyโs AiEdge software suite. The systems showcased:
- Fast, field-ready setup
- Seamless integration into Army FAAD-C2 using the NATO-standard SAPIENT protocol
- Real-time airspace situational awareness at the tactical edge

A total of four companies were chosen as winners, each receiving a $350,000 award and placement into the newly established Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD) Marketplace, enabling streamlined acquisition for U.S. and NATO partners.
