Southern Command Demonstrates Tri-Service Integration and Multi-Domain Readiness During Exercise TRISHUL

The Southern Command is conducting a series of Tri-Service exercises under the overarching framework of Exercise TRISHUL, designed to validate full-spectrum land–sea–air integration while showcasing India’s growing capability in multi-domain operations. The ongoing exercise embodies the Armed Forces’ guiding mantra of JAI — Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation.

Focus on Multi-Domain Integration

Exercise TRISHUL commenced with a series of mission-focused validations aimed at enhancing joint operational readiness across multiple domains. The exercise encompasses electronic warfare, cyber and counter-drone operations, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and air defence control and reporting, highlighting the Armed Forces’ ability to dominate both virtual and physical domains through coordinated, technology-driven integration.

Intense Training Across Diverse Terrains

In the Thar Desert, Southern Command formations are executing Exercises MaruJwala and Akhand Prahaar, featuring integrated manoeuvres that test combined arms coordination, rapid mobility, and precision targeting under realistic operational conditions. These drills will culminate in a mega joint combat exercise, validating multi-domain coordination and the Indian Army’s focus on transformation through rigorous training and real-time validation.

Joint Operations in the Kutch Sector

A joint field exercise in the Kutch Sector, involving the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Border Security Force (BSF), is rehearsing integrated operational capabilities in close coordination with civil administration. This initiative exemplifies Military–Civil Fusion in enhancing national security preparedness through synchronized planning and execution.

Culmination with Amphibious Operations

The final phase of Exercise TRISHUL will feature a Joint Amphibious Exercise off the Saurashtra Coast, demonstrating beach landing operations by the Amphibious Forces of Southern Command. The drill will validate the Indian Armed Forces’ ability to execute multi-domain, tri-service operations with seamless coordination across land, sea, and air.

A Testament to Jointness and Modernisation

Exercise TRISHUL reinforces the Armed Forces’ commitment to Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation, serving as a testbed for the Indian Army’s Decade of Transformation initiative. This initiative focuses on five strategic pillars — Jointness and Integration, Force Restructuring, Modernisation and Technology Infusion, Improving Systems and Processes, and Enhancing Human Resource Skills to meet the evolving nature of warfare.

The Indian Army reaffirmed its resolve to evolve continuously as a Future-Ready Force, capable of responding effectively to emerging challenges across the full spectrum of conflict, through jointness, innovation, and mission-driven transformation.
