Air Marshal Tejbir Singh today assumed charge as the Director General (Inspection & Safety) at Air Headquarters, bringing with him over 37 years of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force. An alumnus of the prestigious Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), UK, the Air Officer has amassed more than 7,000 flying hours and is widely recognised for his pioneering contributions to enhancing the C-130J Super Hercules Special Operations capability.
Air Marshal Tejbir Singh’s vast operational experience, leadership acumen, and expertise in flight safety and inspection frameworks are expected to significantly strengthen the IAF’s oversight, safety protocols, and operational readiness.

He takes over the appointment from Air Marshal M. B. Ranade, who superannuated on 30 November 2025 after an illustrious career spanning 39 years. The IAF paid tribute to Air Marshal Ranade’s exemplary service, professionalism, and lasting contribution to air operations and organisational excellence.
The transition marks a continued commitment to strengthening flight safety and operational standards across the Indian Air Force.
