In a regulatory filing, the company said the order was received in the ordinary course of business from a private entity, with the systems deliverable to the Ministry of Defence. The execution of the order is scheduled to be completed within four months.

“Apollo Micro Systems has received orders amounting to ₹1,002.47 million for the supply of Unmanned Aerial Systems, deliverable to the Ministry of Defence,” the company stated, confirming the contract value and timeline.

Strengthening Indigenous Defence Capabilities

The order underlines the Indian armed forces’ increasing reliance on indigenously developed unmanned platforms for surveillance, reconnaissance, and tactical missions. UAS have emerged as critical assets in modern warfare, offering flexibility, real-time intelligence, and reduced risk to personnel.

Apollo Micro Systems specialises in the design, development, and manufacture of advanced electronic, electro-mechanical, and engineering systems for defence applications, and the latest order further strengthens its standing as a key private-sector player in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.

Expansion Plans in Telangana

Earlier this month, the company announced plans to invest ₹1,500 crore in a greenfield defence manufacturing facility in Telangana. The expansion will include state-of-the-art facilities for the production and filling of missile warheads, rocket motors, and artillery ammunition across small, medium, and large calibres, along with complete ammunition systems for rockets and other armaments.

Robust Order Book and Market Performance

Apollo Micro Systems reported an order book of ₹785 crore as of September 30, 2025 (1HFY26), reflecting strong demand across defence and aerospace segments. The company’s stock has also seen a sharp rally, with its share price rising over 120% so far this year, mirroring investor confidence in India’s defence manufacturing push.

The latest UAS contract reinforces the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision and highlights the expanding role of private industry in meeting the operational and technological requirements of India’s armed forces.
