In view of the upcoming Passing Out Parade (POP) at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Dehradun Police has announced a detailed traffic diversion plan to be implemented from December 6 to 13. The areas surrounding the IMA campus have been declared a Zero Zone, with strict restrictions on vehicular movement during specified hours.
According to officials, the traffic diversions will remain in effect on:
- December 6: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- December 9: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- December 11: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM
- December 12: 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM
- December 13: 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Traffic Plan for the IMA POP
- No traffic will be allowed towards IMA during parade timings, as the entire area remains under Zero Zone restrictions.
- Vehicles travelling from Ballupur to Premnagar will be diverted via Rangharwala Tiraaha → Mithi Beri → Premnagar.
- Vehicles coming from Premnagar towards the city will be routed through Premnagar Chowk → Daru Chowk → Mithi Beri → Shimla Bypass → Niranjanpur Mandi → City.
- Under special circumstances, traffic from Premnagar may be allowed to pass through the IMA campus via the MT Section Gate towards Rangharwala.
- Heavy vehicles coming from Selakui and Bhaauwawala will be diverted from Dhulkot Tiraaha → Singhniwala → Nayagaon → City.
- Heavy vehicles travelling from Dehradun to Vikasnagar will be diverted via the Shimla Bypass towards Vikasnagar and Dharmawala.
Passing Out Parade on December 13
The prestigious Passing Out Parade will be held at the Indian Military Academy on December 13, marking the commissioning of officer cadets from India and friendly foreign nations. In the days leading up to the parade, several ceremonial events will also be conducted inside the academy.
The administration has advised commuters to follow traffic guidelines, use alternative routes, and plan their travel in advance to avoid inconvenience.
