Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta Reviews Joint India–Nepal Training at Foreign Training Node Pithoragarh

Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command, visited the Foreign Training Node (FTN) Pithoragarh to review the ongoing joint training between the Nepali Army contingent and the Indian Army. The exercise focuses on counter-terrorism operations under the UN Chapter VII mandate as well as Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) tasks tailored to the security dynamics of the strategic India–Nepal region.

During the visit, the Army Commander interacted with troops from both nations and commended the high degree of interoperability, professionalism, and seamless coordination achieved. He also appreciated the contingent’s effective integration of niche technologies into training modules.

Lt Gen Sengupta encouraged both the troops and the Exercise Control Team to conduct a realistic and rigorous assessment during the upcoming Command Post Exercise (CPX) and Field Training Validation Exercise (FTX). He underscored the importance of mutual learning, exchange of best practices, and strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
