Lt Gen C G Muralidharan, Director General Medical Services (Army), visited Base Hospital Delhi Cantt on December 29 and inaugurated a newly renovated, state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), marking a significant enhancement in neonatal healthcare services.

The upgraded NICU is equipped with modern medical infrastructure and advanced life-support systems, aimed at delivering comprehensive and specialised care to newborns requiring critical medical attention. The facility is expected to substantially improve clinical outcomes and strengthen neonatal care capacity within the Armed Forces medical network.
During the visit, Lt Gen Muralidharan interacted with officers, nursing officers, and Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks (JCOs/ORs), and complimented the hospital staff for their cohesiveness, professionalism, and teamwork. He lauded the dedication of the medical and support personnel in maintaining high standards of patient care.

The DGMS (Army) also reviewed the Key Location Plan (KLP) of the upcoming new hospital project, assessing progress, infrastructure development, and implementation timelines. Additionally, he witnessed the operational readiness of various hospital units and facilities.
The visit reaffirmed the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) commitment to quality healthcare delivery, technological modernisation, and future capacity building, ensuring world-class medical support for service personnel, veterans, and their families.

The inauguration of the renovated Neonatal ICU stands as a testament to AFMSโs continuous efforts to upgrade medical infrastructure and strengthen specialised care services across Armed Forces hospitals.
