Lieutenant General R C Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Eastern Command, along with senior military officers, visited the Border Outpost at Belonia in South Tripura to review the prevailing security situation along the Indo–Bangladesh border.

During the visit, Lt Gen Tiwari was briefed on operational preparedness, border management measures, and coordination mechanisms in place to ensure effective surveillance and security along the sensitive frontier. The review focused on maintaining vigilance, preventing cross-border threats, and ensuring seamless coordination among security forces deployed in the region.

The Army Commander interacted with troops deployed at the border outpost and commended them for their professionalism, alertness, and dedication to duty while operating in challenging conditions. He emphasised the importance of sustained vigilance and proactive measures to safeguard national security.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and robust border security in the eastern sector.
