Major General Navtej Singh Sohal assumed command of Headquarters Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area on 15 December 2025, marking a significant leadership transition in the region.
Commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery, Maj Gen Sohal brings with him over three decades of distinguished service in the Indian Army. His career spans a wide range of command, instructional, and staff appointments, reflecting deep operational experience and professional expertise.
After assuming charge, the General Officer interacted with officers and personnel of all ranks, appreciating their dedication and commitment. He exhorted them to maintain high standards of operational preparedness and remain vigilant in view of emerging and evolving security challenges.
Maj Gen Sohal’s appointment is expected to further strengthen operational efficiency, administrative effectiveness, and security preparedness across the Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area.
