Lieutenant Safin Ashraf, a young officer from Bangladesh, made history by graduating from the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, and described India as a โ€œtrue friendโ€ during his commissioning ceremony. His achievement underscores the strong military and diplomatic ties between India and Bangladesh.

Outstanding Performance at IMA

Safin Ashraf successfully completed rigorous military training at IMA and was honored as the Best Foreign Cadet for his exceptional performance. During the Passing Out Parade, he proudly took the final step as an officer, with the Indian Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, pinning rank stars on his shoulders alongside his spouse, making it a memorable moment for all.

Hailing from a middle-class family in Bangladesh, Safinโ€™s father holds a modest job, yet his dedication and perseverance brought him to one of the worldโ€™s top military training institutions. Safin expressed that training at IMA has been the most prestigious and enriching experience of his life. He emphasized that Indiaโ€™s military professionalism has inspired not only him but also many in Bangladesh.

Safin Ashraf highlighted the historical and enduring friendship between India and Bangladesh, stating that both nations have been reliable allies over the years. While he refrained from commenting on Bangladeshโ€™s internal political affairs, he proudly spoke of the strategic and leadership training received at IMA.
