Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended heartfelt greetings to the Armed Forces personnel on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, observed every year on December 7 since 1949 to honour Indiaโs soldiers who have fought โ and continue to guard โ the nationโs borders with courage and dedication.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, โOn Armed Forces Flag Day, we express our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who protect our nation with unwavering courage. Their discipline, resolve and spirit shield our people and strengthen our nation. Their commitment stands as a powerful example of duty, discipline and devotion to our nation. Let us also contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.โ
The Prime Minister also urged citizens to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF), which supports war-disabled soldiers, Veer Naris, and the families of martyrs who have laid down their lives in service of the nation.

The Ministry of Defence has reiterated the significance of the day, noting, โSoldiers are one of the greatest assets of any country. They are the guardians of the nation and protect its citizens at all costs. To fulfil their duties, soldiers have sacrificed a lot of things in their lives.โ

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also shared a message on X, saluting the valour of the armed forces. He said, โOn Armed Forces Flag Day, I salute the valour and sacrifices of our armed forces. Their courage safeguards our nation, and their selfless service reminds us of a debt we can never repay. I urge everyone to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Your support honours their dedication and strengthens those who protect us.โ
