In a powerful tribute to courage and aspiration, the Late Lady Cadet Stanzin Odzes Memorial Ice Hockey Championship – 2025 was held at an altitude of 14,000 feet, where freezing winds and thin air test even the strongest. The tournament honoured the legacy of Stanzin Odzes, the first lady officer cadet from Tangtse, whose inspiring journey continues to motivate youth across Ladakh.
Organised on the naturally frozen ice rinks of the high Himalayas, the championship witnessed spirited participation from young athletes who showcased exceptional grit, endurance, and sportsmanship. Despite harsh temperatures and low oxygen levels, the players demonstrated remarkable skill, reflecting both the region’s deep-rooted ice hockey culture and its relentless determination.
