Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir, directing all security agencies to continue counter-terror operations in a “mission mode” to achieve the goal of a terror-free Union Territory at the earliest.
During the meeting, Shah emphasised that sustained pressure on terrorist infrastructure and terror financing networks is essential to preserve the security gains achieved since the abrogation of Article 370. He instructed agencies to remain alert, maintain close coordination, and work in synergy to ensure long-term stability in the region.
The Home Minister assured that all necessary resources would be made available to security forces to carry out their mandate effectively. He also lauded the efforts of the agencies for the improved security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, calling for continued vigilance and proactive operations.
The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka, the UT’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, along with heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other senior officials.
The review underscores the Centre’s focus on consolidating peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir through coordinated, intelligence-driven counter-terror measures and sustained inter-agency cooperation.
