Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Army Training Command (ARTRAC), visited INS Satavahana on January 22, 2026.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was given a comprehensive tour of the establishment’s various training wings, which showcased state-of-the-art submarine training infrastructure and innovation-driven in-house training initiatives. He reviewed the advanced facilities and methodologies employed to impart specialised submarine training to personnel.

The GOC-in-C appreciated the high standards of practical training being delivered at INS Satavahana, noting the effective use of advanced technologies and innovative instructional methods to enhance trainee proficiency and operational readiness.

The visit also highlighted the importance of a free exchange of ideas in the training domain across Services, reinforcing the focus on jointness and integration in military training. Lt Gen Sharma emphasised that such cross-service collaboration strengthens overall capability development and contributes to a more cohesive and future-ready Armed Forces training ecosystem.
