Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, visited the Jodhpur Sub Area to review its operational preparedness and ongoing readiness initiatives.

During the visit, the Army Commander assessed the formationโs logistics, ammunition management, and sustainment mechanisms supporting multidimensional operational commitments. He appreciated the exemplary performance during Operation SINDOOR, particularly the efficient handling of ammunition management and logistics through Ammunition Echelons, the Field Ammunition Depot (FAD), Supply Depots, and the Advanced Base Ordnance Depot (ABOD).

Focus on Logistics, Readiness and HADR
Lt Gen Seth commended the formation for streamlining logistics and administrative processes, noting that robust sustainment systems are critical enablers of combat effectiveness. He also praised the high state of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) preparedness, highlighting initiatives undertaken in close coordination with central and state agencies as a strong example of effective militaryโcivil fusion delivering tangible results on the ground.

SoldierโCitizen Connect and Nation Building
The Army Commander lauded initiatives aimed at strengthening the SoldierโCitizen connect, including veteransโ outreach programmes and accelerated execution of key infrastructure projects. He underlined that such efforts reinforce public trust, enhance morale, and contribute meaningfully to nation building alongside core military tasks.
The visit reaffirmed Southern Commandโs emphasis on operational readiness, resilient logistics, civilโmilitary cooperation, and people-centric initiativesโensuring formations remain prepared to meet both security challenges and humanitarian responsibilities.
