The Chiefs of Staff Committee has released a Vision Document on Training Methodology for the Indian Armed Forces, aimed at futuristic capability building and preparing the force for evolving security challenges.
Termed a seminal and forward-looking document, the vision provides holistic guidance across all three Services to achieve clearly defined training outcomes. It is designed to prepare military leaders to operate effectively in a complex security environment marked by rapid technological change, hybrid threats, and increased jointness.
Strengthening Professional Military Education

Enabling Joint, Multi-Domain Operations
A central thrust of the vision is to develop capabilities for multi-domain operations in a joint and integrated environment. It stresses interoperability and synergy across land, maritime, air, cyber, space, and information domains, with training designed to mirror real-world joint operations through common standards, integrated curricula, and outcome-based assessments.
Building Future-Ready Leaders
By advocating modern pedagogiesโsuch as simulations, wargaming, and technology-enabled learningโthe document aims to cultivate agile, innovative, and technologically proficient leaders capable of delivering decisive effects across the spectrum of conflict.
The release of the Vision Document marks a significant step toward harmonising tri-service training philosophies and strengthening Indiaโs readiness to meet present and future security challenges.
