Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, visited Army Aviation Squadrons operating in the Kashmir Valley to review their operational readiness and contribution to ongoing military operations.

During the visit, the Army Commander interacted with aviation personnel and assessed the role of Army Aviation units in supporting active formations. These squadrons form a critical backbone for troops on the ground, enabling rapid response during emergencies and ensuring sustained logistics support to soldiers deployed in remote and inaccessible areas across the Valley.

Lt Gen Sharma acknowledged the vital role played by Army Aviation in casualty evacuation, surveillance, troop movement, and supply of essential stores under challenging terrain and weather conditions. He commended the personnel for their professionalism, precision flying, and unwavering commitment to mission success.

As part of the visit, the Army Commander awarded the Northern Command Annual Flight Safety Trophy to two frontline Army Aviation Squadrons. The award recognises their exemplary safety standards, operational discipline, and dedication to maintaining the highest levels of aviation safety while conducting demanding missions.
The visit reaffirmed Northern Commandโs emphasis on operational excellence, aviation safety, and the crucial role of Army Aviation in enhancing mobility, responsiveness, and combat effectiveness of formations deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.
