Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni, AVSM, VSM, PhD, Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DGEME) and Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME, visited the EME School, Vadodara, from January 19 to 21, 2026.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sahni was briefed on the comprehensive training curriculum at EME School, designed to develop highly skilled, battle-ready technical warriors for the Indian Army. The briefing highlighted the institution’s sustained focus on innovation, indigenisation in niche technologies, and the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence in technical training.

The DGEME also reviewed the state-of-the-art training infrastructure supporting advanced weapon systems, vehicle platforms, and modern optronics, all aimed at enhancing the Army’s operational readiness in line with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Commending the faculty and trainees, Lt Gen Sahni praised EME School’s continued contribution towards strengthening the Army’s technical edge. As part of the visit, he also conferred Excellence Awards on serving soldiers and Civil Defence employees, recognising their dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service.

The visit reaffirmed EME School’s pivotal role in sustaining the Indian Army’s technological superiority through training, innovation, and indigenisation.
