Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS), visited the defence manufacturing facilities of Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Bharat Forge Ltd in Pune, where he was briefed on emerging defence technologies being developed in alignment with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

During the visit, the VCOAS reviewed a range of ongoing indigenous projects spanning robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and modern artillery platforms, reflecting the growing depth and sophistication of Indiaโs private defence manufacturing ecosystem. Senior officials from both companies outlined progress on key programmes and highlighted innovations aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and survivability on the modern battlefield.

Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh commended the focused efforts of Indiaโs defence industry in delivering cutting-edge, home-grown capabilities to the Armed Forces. He underscored the critical importance of indigenous solutions in meeting the demands of an evolving security environment, reducing import dependence, and strengthening overall national defence preparedness.

The visit reaffirmed the Indian Armyโs close engagement with domestic industry partners as part of a broader push to accelerate self-reliance in defence production and technology development.
